Nothing is more frustrating than watching your newly-purchased consumer electronics product get replaced a month after you bought it. That happened to me a month ago, when Canon announced the new EOS-10D Digital SLR ($1499 street price), which replaced the EOS-D60 that I had just bought for more money. WHY HE DONT HAPPY ABOUT IT ???????????????? The camera has a new 18 megapixel sensor and has an impressive viewfinder with a 1.0% magnification showing 100% of the frame rather than a 95% viewfinder that is in the EOS 50D. Sep 17th
Not quite a year after announcing the Powershot SX10 IS ultrazoom, Canon is back with a successor, the PowerShot SX20 IS. The new camera gets a higher 12.1 megapixel resolution on the same physical-sized sensor, a 720p HD video capability and an HDMI connection to facilitate playback of images on an HDTV. Folks familiar with the SX10 IS will note the new camera appears to be virtually identical to the old (the main external difference seems to be the enlargement of the digital cover on Read More
How Digital Cameras Capture Images 2

Shutter The shutter is a complicated mechanism that precisely controls the duration of time that light passing through the lens remains in contact with the digital image sensor. The camera’s shutter is activated by the shutter release button. Prior to the digital age, the shutter remained closed to prevent the film from being exposed. Depending on the type of digital image sensor, a mechanical shutter may not be necessary. Rather than a shutter revealing light to initiate a chemical reaction i Read More
